Orpheus Mosaic

Produced with children at a Summer holiday club in Leicestershire.

Based on the Roman Orpheus myth, the children chose their own 'wild' animals to depict. In the original version, Orpheus calms the wild beasts with his beautiful music. This group chose guinea pigs, ducks and butterflies!

Thorpe Acre Trail
This plinth depicts many aspects of local history and includes impressions of found objects and animal prints. An area of mosaic created by local school children makes reference to Leicestershire's Roman past.
