A taster day using willow to make simple sculptural forms. Practice random weave techniques to create spheres, hearts, fish and other organic shapes. Emma offers a choice of projects, encouraging individual style and creativity.
This Saturday March 10th workshop offers the chance to make something special for Mothers Day which falls the following day…or bring your mum along for a creative treat.
The class may be studio or garden-based, depending on the weather. We back onto organically farmed land with views across the fields to Carsington Water making it a lovely place to work.
Open to all – both beginners and those with experience.

Tutor: Emma Parkins
Emma has been a freelance artist since 1997, originally as a commercial illustrator and later working as a community artist.
She now specialises in willow sculpture, focusing mainly on wildlife subjects and decorative objects. She strives to bring out the character of an animal, drawing on her years as an illustrator. Emma has created commissions for both private and public sector, including Derbyshire County Council and The National Trust. She has exhibited a number of pieces at Kedleston Hall.

Timings & Refreshments
Start: Join us from 9.30am for tea/coffee and introductions. Tuition starts at 10.00am
End: Course finishes around 4.30pm
There is an hour for lunch and breaks whenever you wish.
A tasty light lunch is included in the course fee. Let us know of any special dietary needs.
Drinks and biscuits are available all day to help yourself with home-made cake mid afternoon.
