We offer an exciting programme of short courses throughout the year in a range of craft disciplines. Take home new skills, imaginative ideas and your own hand crafted works of art.

Mosaic (1 or 2 days)

Mosaic (1 or 2 days)

Design and make your own mosaic using beautiful glass and ceramic tiles. Potential projects include a decorative panel, mirror frame, trivet or house number/name. Suited to all levels of experience.

Stained Glass Intro (1 or 2 days)

Stained Glass Intro (1 or 2 days)

A colourful and careful introduction to stained glass, focusing on the copper foil technique. Develop basic skills including design, cutting glass and soldering. No previous experience required.

Mosaic Summer School (5 days)

Mosaic Summer School (5 days)

Join us for a blissful week of mosaic! Open to all, this course offers a great choice of projects and techniques. Ideas range from table tops and splash backs to terracotta pots and paving slabs.

Stained Glass Intermediate (2 days)

Stained Glass Intermediate (2 days)

Design and construct your own stunning leaded light panel. A practical workshop for those with some basic experience of cutting glass who wish to further develop their skills. Expert tuition. Gorgeous materials.

Stained Glass Summer School (5 days)

Stained Glass Summer School (5 days)

Expert tuition will cover both copper foil and leaded light techniques enabling you to design and complete your own chosen project. All levels of experience are welcome including complete beginners.

Willow Garden Structures (1 day)

Get creative in the garden with willow expert Eddie Glew. Take away willow plant supports, sunflowers and dragonflies. Instruction given on living willow structures such as dens and tunnels.

Willow Animal Sculpture (2 days)

Willow Animal Sculpture (2 days)

Let your imagination run wild creating your own willow animals. Take home foxes, pheasants, hares and herons to enhance any garden or living space. No previous experience required.

Silver Clay Jewellery (1 or 2 days)

Create unique items of jewellery in this amazing medium. Pendants, earrings and charms can be sculpted just like clay, then kiln-fired to form hallmark quality silver.

Creative Paper Cutting (1 or 2 days)

Hugely popular at present, this course covers various design/cutting techniques to create personalised greetings cards and original artworks. (The 2-day option offers the chance to make your own unique lamp shade.)

Letterpress Printing (1 day)

Letterpress Printing (1 day)

Original type, beautiful papers and a vintage press! Create a design using hand-set type and produce your own limited edition prints. A fascinating introduction to the art of typography and the workings of a table top press.

Needle Felted Dogs (1 day)

Needle Felted Dogs (1 day)

Create your own 4-legged friend to take home! A tactile 1-day workshop exploring 3D needle felting techniques. Make a mini replica of your pet – or design the dog of your dreams! All skill levels welcome.

Needle Felted Hares & Hounds (2 days)

Choose to make hares, hounds or both! A tactile 2-day workshop exploring 3D needle felting techniques. Add ears and eyes, tails and noses to bring your creatures to life. Open to all skill levels.

Fused Glass

Fused Glass

An introduction to a wonderful array of glass in many forms. Learn how to cut, shape and assemble materials to create beautiful pieces of your own. Become familiar with different firing techniques and fuse finishes. Design your own 2D and 3D projects such as coasters, light catchers, bowls, platters, plant pot stakes and jewellery. Your creations will be kiln fired after the workshop for collection at a later date.

Willow Basket Weaving

Willow Basket Weaving

Join expert, Eddie Glew, for this all-absorbing workshop in basketry. Use traditional English & French techniques to make one large basket or 2 smaller ones to take home.

Painted Stained Glass

Painted Stained Glass

Combine traditional glass painting with lead work. You will create a small stained glass panel to take home and some samples. Open to both beginners and those with experience.

Willow Sculptural Forms

Willow Sculptural Forms

Practice simple random weave techniques to create spheres, hearts, fish and other organic shapes. A choice of willow projects for both beginners and those with experience.

Tasty homemade lunches and refreshments are included in the course fee;

Courses run from 10.00am to 4.30pm with an hour for lunch.

Help yourself to tea/coffee in our guest lounge all day.

On our 5-day courses the Wednesday afternoon is untutored time, leaving you free to explore the local area or continue working in the studio if you wish.
