Be inspired ... Escape to the beautiful Peak District countryside and immerse yourself in the colourful and creative haven of Zantium Studios.

We offer an exciting programme of short courses throughout the year in a range of art and craft disciplines. Take home new skills, imaginative ideas and your own hand crafted works of art.

Numbers are limited to a maximum of 8 students on most courses to ensure comfortable workspace and plenty of one to one tuition.

Craft Workshop Facilities

Our purpose built studio is on the first floor with spectacular views out over the fields to Carsington Water. It is a bright and airy space with good natural light. Our library of art, craft and design books is available for reference.
On certain courses, students may choose to work in the gardens and woodland at Godfrey Hole House.
Residential customers are welcome to use the studio space in the evening.

Lunch and Refreshments

A delicious light lunch is included in the course fee. This is typically homemade soup with bread from our local bakery, cheese board and fresh salads (homegrown when in season). Coffee and chocolate biscuits are offered mid-morning with tea and cake served in the afternoon.

Accommodation

Apologies - we are currently unable to offer accommodation on site at Godfrey Hole House. However, there are plenty of good options locally which come well recommended by past students. Please see the on our Accomodation page

All our tutors are professional artists/craftspeople, handpicked for their specialist knowledge and experience in their own fields. The emphasis is on providing high quality tuition in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Group sizes are kept small (maximum of 8 students to one tutor) to ensure plenty of individual attention.

Hours

Courses generally run from 10.00am to 4.30pm with an hour for lunch. On 5-day courses the Wednesday afternoon is untutored time, leaving students free to explore the local area or continue working in the studio.

Private Courses

Private courses can be arranged for small groups (minimum 6 people) for occasions such as re-unions, birthday gatherings, hen parties, staff training etc.
Please call us to discuss ideas or available dates. These may be residential or day events.

Gift Vouchers

Course gift vouchers make original presents. Dates and course-type may be left open for the recipient to select. Contact us for a Zantium Studios gift voucher card to present on the day.
