Feltmaking - Christine Waygood
Soft and sumptuous...this colourful and tactile workshop offers a perfect introduction to the art of
feltmaking. Experiment with pattern, colour and texture to produce unique effects.
The resultant fabrics can then be fashioned into your own finished items such as hats, bags,
scarves, slippers, cushions and table mats.
A rich selection of fibres and yarns will be available. Go for bold and vibrant or soft and subtle.

No previous experience is required.
The Course (Two days)
Inspirational slides and examples of Christine's own work provide a stunning introduction to this fascinating craft. Students will then explore layering, pattern making and construction techniques to create their own interior or fashion accessories.
Tutor: Christine Waygood

Christine Waygood has been making textiles for over 20 years, developing her own unique
method of constructing knitted and felted garments. In 1990 she opened her own workshop, ‘The
Soft Centre’ in Glossop, Derbyshire.
She is well travelled and often takes inspiration from the textiles of Europe and Asia. Her varied
teaching experience includes lecturing at Goldsmiths, Loughborough and Liverpool Universities.
