Soft
and sumptuous...this colourful and tactile workshop offers a perfect
introduction to the art of
feltmaking. Experiment with pattern, colour and texture to produce
unique effects.
The resultant fabrics can then be fashioned into your own finished
items such as hats, bags,
scarves, slippers, cushions and table mats.
A rich selection of fibres and yarns will be available. Go for bold
and vibrant or soft and subtle.
No previous experience
is required. |
The
Course (Two days)
Inspirational slides and examples of Christine's own work provide
a stunning introduction to this fascinating craft. Students will
then explore layering, pattern making and construction techniques
to create their own interior or fashion accessories. |

Tutor:
Christine Waygood
Christine Waygood has been making textiles for over 20 years,
developing her own unique
method of constructing knitted and felted garments. In 1990 she
opened her own workshop, The
Soft Centre in Glossop, Derbyshire.
She is well travelled and often takes inspiration from the textiles
of Europe and Asia. Her varied
teaching experience includes lecturing at Goldsmiths, Loughborough
and Liverpool Universities.

Materials
A
basic materials charge of £10 covers an excellent range of
dyed, carded fleece. Additional materials will be available to purchase
if desired. |
