The Course (Two days)This colourful workshop provides a perfect introduction to the creative and practical aspects of stained glass. The focus is on learning basic skills such as cutting, grozing and soldering which can then be put into practice as students develop their own projects. Over the two days each student will complete 2 copperfoiled light catchers to take home. No previous experience is required. |

Tutor: Lilian Shaw Lilian trained originally as a painter working in oils and pastels.
Her passion for light and colour led her to pursue a career as a
stained glass artist. She founded her own studio in 1986. |
Materials There is an initial charge of £10 for basic materials used
on the course. This covers clear glass (for cutting practice), some
coloured glass, copper foil, flux, solder and patina plus use of
all tools. Larger and more specialist pieces of glass may be purchased
from the tutor at an additional cost. |

Health & Safety This workshop involves the handling and soldering of metals (specifically lead, tin and copper). It also requires the use of sharp materials, hot tools and chemicals. Protective goggles, gloves and dust masks will be provided. |
