|
|
|
Kiln formed
glass is currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity. This weekend
workshop offers the perfect introduction to this intriguing art
form. Students will be encouraged to experiment with various materials
and techniques to produce decorative glass items of their choice.
Potential projects include jewellery, tiles, vessels, light catchers
and Christmas decorations.

The
Course (Two days)
Day one covers some of the history and theory of kiln formed glass.
It introduces students to techniques such as fusing and laminating.
A series of small 2D projects will allow students to sample both
clear and coloured glass effects. Objects such as wire, beads
and dry leaves can be sandwiched between layers of glass as inclusions.
