A fascinating introduction to the art and science of enamelling.
The course covers both wet and dry enamelling techniques to make a pendant and a pair of earrings.
The workshop includes:
Safety briefing and basic enamelling theory. Advice on materials and suppliers. Enamel powder preparation, mesh sifting and stencilling. Use of fire scale as a decorative feature. Finishing and polishing.

Amanda is a Derbyshire based jeweller and experienced tutor. Having initially studied Chemistry, she takes inspiration from the behaviour of materials in response to chemical and physical processes such as enamelling. She creates unique pieces in silver and gold with the addition of porcelain, enamel and resin. She works to commission and exhibits locally.

Materials & kiln firing Fee: £25 for the materials used on the workshop. (Note, this materials charge is in addition to the course fee.)
Timings & Refreshments
Start time: Join us from 9.30am for tea/coffee and introductions. Tuition starts at 10.00am
End time: Tuition finishes around 4.30pm
There is an hour for lunch and breaks whenever you wish.
A tasty light lunch is included in the course fee. Please let us know of any special dietary requirements. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available all day to help yourself and there will be home-made cake mid afternoon.
