Let your imagination run wild! Join willow artist, Emma Parkins, for this engaging workshop making creatures great and small. Willow is a fun and accessible medium which gives impressive results in a relatively short space of time.
Emma offers a choice of projects, encouraging individual style and creativity. Foxes, pheasants, hares and hens; sheep, deer, cats and dogs all prove popular. Abstract forms are equally possible if you prefer this approach.
The class may be studio or garden-based, depending on the weather. We back onto organically farmed land with views across the fields to Carsington Water making it a lovely place to work.
Open to all – both beginners and those with experience.

Tutor: Emma Parkins
Emma has been a freelance artist since 1997, originally as a commercial illustrator and later working as a community artist.
She now specialises in willow sculpture, focusing mainly on wildlife subjects and decorative objects. She strives to bring out the character of an animal, drawing on her years as an illustrator. Emma has created commissions for both private and public sector, including Derbyshire County Council and The National Trust. She has exhibited a number of pieces at Kedleston Hall.

There is a charge of approx. £10 – £15 per person for materials. This covers the willow you will need for the workshop. Tools are provided but feel free to bring your own secateurs if you prefer.

Timings & Refreshments
Start time: Join us from 10.00am for tea/coffee and introductions. Tuition starts at 10.30am
End time: Tuition finishes around 4.30pm
There is an hour for lunch and breaks whenever you wish.
A tasty light lunch is included in the course fee. Please let us know of any special dietary requirements. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available all day to help yourself and there will be home-made cake mid afternoon.
