A colourful and careful introduction to stained glass using the copper foil technique. Develop basic skills and gain confidence with glass. No previous experience required.
Lilian will take you through the various stages of design, glass cutting and soldering. Over the two days you will produce 2 or 3 small copper-foiled light catchers. A choice of templates will be provided with the option to design your own piece if you wish.

Lilian trained originally as a painter working in oils and pastels. Her love of light and colour led her to pursue a career as a stained glass artist. She founded her own studio in 1986.
She has many varied commissions to her name both in the UK and abroad. These include pieces for private clients, churches and the National Trust.
Lilian is an experienced and conscientious tutor with a genuine passion for her craft.

A good selection of quality glass will be available
Materials fee: £15 cover charge for the basics (clear glass for cutting practice, some coloured glass, copper foil, flux, solder and patina – plus use of all tools. Larger and more specialist pieces of glass may be purchased from the tutor at additional cost.

Health & Safety
This workshop involves the handling and soldering of metals (specifically lead, tin and copper). It also requires the use of sharp materials, hot tools and chemicals. Protective goggles, gloves and dust masks will be provided.
