Description
Design and make a beautiful tealight holder using the copper foil (Tiffany) technique. You will learn how to cut, shape and join glass to create your own mini candle lantern.
This course is perfect for beginners. Practise basic skills and gain confidence with glass. Choose colours and shapes to develop your own simple design.

• Score and break glass to fit your chosen pattern

Tutor: Lin Fletcher
Lin has been working with glass for over 20 years. She specialises in both lead and copper foil techniques; making, teaching and restoring. Along with a team of craftspeople, her most recent prestigious project has been the restoration of the windows at Manchester Town Hall – all 587 of them! She is passionate about stained glass and loves creating pieces she hopes will be cherished for decades.

Materials
Coloured glass, mirror glass base, glass nuggets, copper foil, solder, wire and consumables.
Materials fee: £10 per person (payable to the tutor at the end)
This is in addition to the course fee
Health & Safety: This workshop involves the handling and soldering of metals (lead, tin & copper). It also requires the use of sharp materials, hot tools and chemicals. Protective goggles, gloves and dust masks will be provided – or you may prefer to bring your own. Whilst every effort is made to keep the studio environment safe and well ventilated, if you are pregnant/breastfeeding or suffer from asthma or dermatitis, you should seek medical advice before booking this course.
Lunch & Refreshments
A tasty light lunch is included in the course fee. Help yourself to drinks and biscuits throughout the day with homemade cake mid-afternoon. (Please let us know of any dietary requirements).
