Let your imagination run wild creating your own willow animal. No experience necessary for this fun and accessible medium. Make a fox, pheasant, hare or hens to enhance any garden or living space.
Learn all about willow… how to grow, prepare and sculpt it to form 3-dimensional structures. Caroline has perfected the technique of building entirely of willow without the need for metal framework or wires. Start day one with a bundle of pliable willow rods…return home the next day with a substantial work of art!
Over the 2 days you can to design and construct either one four-legged animal or a pair of bird sculptures. Dogs and cats, sheep and pigs, deer, hares and hens have all proven popular over the years. That said, projects have also included a snail, a peacock and even a unicorn! Abstract forms are equally possible should you prefer this approach.
The class takes place outside whenever possible. Views out across the fields to Carsington Water makes it a lovely place to work.
Suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.
