Spend a happy day in the garden making your own willow panel or hurdle. Follow traditional heritage techniques or adopt a more decorative approach.
Practical skills for gardeners to create attractive barriers, screening or border edging.
Anthony will also explain the basics of planting living willow in your garden to build larger structures at home.
Course open to all – from beginners to those with experience.
Come rain or shine, this class will take place outdoors. The garden backs onto fields with views across to Carsington Water making it a lovely place to work.

Tutor: Anthony Hammond
Anthony Hammond is an award winning artist, sculptor and craftsman based in North Staffordshire. Skilled in a range of creative and sculptural techniques, he works in a variety of media including willow, ‘green’ wood and stone. He encourages the use of locally sourced and coppiced materials.
His focus is on large scale public art works, private commissions and teaching.

Locally coppiced willow from Staffordshire along with willow from Somerset. Tools are provided.
