Christmas trees, angels, snowmen and stars… Make your own collection of stained glass decorations to treasure for years to come. Focusing on the copper foil (Tiffany) technique, you will learn how to cut, shape and join glass – with sparkling results!

This course is perfect for beginners and improvers. Templates will be provided or you may wish to develop your own simple designs. Add beads and wire to finish and display. Practise basic skills and gain confidence with glass. No previous experience required.

• Select suitable glass
• Score and break glass to fit your chosen pattern
• Glass grinding
• Apply copper foil to the cut pieces
• Tack and solder
• Apply patina

Lin Fletcher

Lin has been working with glass for over 20 years. She specialises in both lead and copper foil techniques; making, teaching and restoring. Along with a team of craftspeople, her most recent prestigious project has been the restoration of the windows at Manchester Town Hall – all 587 of them! Materials

Coloured glass, copper foil, solder, wire, glass nuggets, beads and consumables.
Materials fee: Approx £20 per person (payable to the tutor at the end)
This is in addition to the course fee

Health & Safety: This workshop involves the handling and soldering of metals (lead, tin & copper). It also requires the use of sharp materials, hot tools and chemicals. Protective goggles, gloves and dust masks will be provided. Whilst every effort is made to keep the studio environment safe and well ventilated, if you are pregnant/breastfeeding or suffer from asthma or dermatitis, you should seek medical advice before booking this course.


Lunch & Refreshments

A tasty light lunch is included in the course fee. Help yourself to drinks and biscuits throughout the day with homemade cake mid-afternoon. (Please let us know of any dietary requirements).
